Learning by accident... / Aprendiendo por accidente...

Twentysomething years painting figures and I still discover and learn new ways of improving things... by accident...

10 minutes ago I was giving the final touches to the Space Wolf armor of LG2.0 when I decided to try something different and apply some rust and weathering effects with paints rather than with pigments.
I remembered that sometime ago Neil Green taught me that a good combination to do rust is Scorched Brown, Vermin Brown and Fiery Orange (sorry, I do not know the new cool names of the new Citadel range for these colors).
While I was applying the glaze of Scorched Brown on the chipped metallic areas of the armor I started to realize that this color is actually a cool option for shading the Space Wolves armor .... and I did not realized until now!!!

Visiting a GW store one year later / Visitando una tienda GW un año después

It has been a long time since I last visited my fellow friends from the GW stores. But yesterday afternoon I was doing some Christmas shopping in the city center and I decided to make them a visit to check the new releases.

I brought Nico (my son) for the first time there and he was overexcited about all the blisters and colourful boxes displayed all around the store. He was pointing to every single corner with his eyes wide open saying "Ete! Ete!..." :-)
And I am a proud father...

In English, please...

Hello All,

For some time I have been thinking about if the blog should stay as it is: with the posts written only in Spanish; or if I should give to it a more international/global touch by publishing also in English.

When I first created the blog my idea was to do both things: to have a blog in Spanish and a clone of it in English. But I find the option of managing two separate blogs as not possible right now due to the lack of time.

So, after a lot of meditation I have decided to merge both blogs into one and write the posts in both languages: Cervantes' and Shakespeare's. In the same way that I am doing with this post.

On the other hand I have translated the sections in the Top Bar and the information inside them.

Hola a todos,

Llevo un tiempo dándole vueltas acerca de si el blog debería de estar como hasta ahora: con las entradas sólo en español; o si por el contrario debería de darle un toque más internacional/global y publicarlas también en inglés.

La verdad es que al principio de crear el blog mi idea era hacer ambas cosas, es decir el blog original en español y luego un clon del mismo en inglés. Pero por falta de tiempo, veo que va a ser bastante complicado llevar dos blogs a la vez.

De modo que tras mucho meditar, he decidido que juntaré ambos blogs y escribiré dentro de la misma entrada en ambos idiomas: el de Cervantes y el de Shakerpeare. Tal y como estoy haciendo con este post.

Por otra parte, también he traducido al inglés los títulos de la barra superior así como la información de cada una de las secciones.

Nueva lámpara

Hay cuatro elementos principales de cara a dar un nivel adecuado a nuestras figuras:

- La figura en cuestión

- Los colores

- Los pinceles

- ...y la iluminación

Y precisamente de esto último es de lo que os quiero hablar hoy. 

¿Qué es LGv2.0?

Como hoy es mi cumpleaños os voy a regalar una pequeña confesión acerca de mi siguiente proyecto: LGv2.0

Básicamene, LGv2.0 es la versión mejorada de LGv1.0.
Y para hablar de lo que es (o fue) LGv1.0 tenemos que remontarnos al GD de Barcelona de 2000.

De relax en la costa...

Hoy he decidido saltarme un poco las normas y no publicaré nada relacionado con las figuras.
Tan solo quiero daros un poco de envidia ya que estoy disfrutando de unas fantásticas vacaciones acompañado de mi pequeña familia en la Costa del Sol (y vaya solazo!!!)

Aun así sigo planificando desde aquí mi próximo proyecto: LGv2.0...
(Estoy en pleno proceso mental de selección de colores).

Los comienzos (The beginnings...)

Nadie nace sabiendo...
Y todos y cada uno de nosotros tenemos un "oscuro" pasado de "primeras figuras".

Esta mañana estaba subiendo algunas cosas al trastero y me he encontrado con una de mis primeras figuras... :-/
No es la primera que pinté (esa fue un guerrero del Caos), pero debí pintarla durante mi primer año en el mundillo (a principio de los 90).

I am back!!!

Hola a todos!

Después de un tiempo un tanto desconectado de este mundillo por fin he conseguido encontrar la harmonía y el equilibrio necesarios para retomar el hobby más maravilloso del mundo

Como muchos de vosotros ya sabréis, el motivo principal de mi desconexión temporal ha sido una pequeña criatura de nombre Nicolás que hace un par de días cumplió ya un añazo.

Desde que nació no he tenido mucho tiempo ni para pintar (de hecho no he asistido al GD UK 2012), ni para actualizar el blog, ya que entre él y el trabajo un día normal quedaba 100% cubierto.

Ya ha pasado un año, y todo se ha normalizado un poco más, de modo que he decidido agarrar de nuevo los pinceles y volver con fuerza y muchas ganas.

Quiero daros las gracias a todos por vuestra paciencia y disculparme por no haber actualizado el blog desde Navidades (que se dice pronto...)

Espero seguir viendoos asiduamente por estos lares
